Dog costume contests and parades are an American pastime. Tying in with the national celebration of America turning 250 years old in 2026, Kimberling City, Missouri hosted its annual Summerfest Dog Costume Parade and Contest, inviting pups to show off their red, white, and blue best. Every spring, San Antonio invites pet owners to join their Fiesta Pooch Parade through Alamo Heights. The parade features a judged costume contest and a full course route for dogs of all shapes and sizes to strut their stuff.
